Optimal Airfoil Shapes design at different operating conditions - The High Lift - Low Drag Airfoil Design Problem

Starting from two existing airfoils ( left column in the figure below) that operate satisfactorily at take-off (subsonic, high angle of attach, high-lift) and cruise (transonic, high infinite Mach number, low-drag), the target was to compute optimal airfoil shapes that at both operating conditions achieve the pressure coefficient distributions of the existing airfoils (right column).

EASY computed the Pareto optimal front shown below. For some of the proposed designs, the shape of the corresponding airfoil is shown.
